Opened in 1997, The Plateau Club offers a rare combination of amenities, including the privacy, serenity and sense of tradition of a country club, convenient access to urban centers, and a dedicated staff that takes pride in catering to the distinct needs of our members and their guests.
Golf
Set in the forest on the Sammamish Plateau east of Seattle, The Plateau Club features an 18-hole, Perry Dye and Masatsugu Saito designed, championship golf course with two distinct nines. The front nine, opened in 1997, is carved from forested surroundings and preserves a sense of solitude; the back nine, completed in 1998, reflects a more suburban setting with new homes visible on some holes. The highly rated golf course stretches nearly 7,200 yards through secluded forests and offers five sets of tees for players of all abilities. The contoured greens are protected by more than 50 bunkers, with water hazards strategically situated on 11 of the 18 holes. A state-of-the-art drainage system allows year-round play, while protecting the nearby wetlands and wildlife.
The Plateau Club offers a variety of practice facilities including a driving range, putting green and short game area. The 270 yard natural grass range offers teeing area room for 25 golfers. In addition, a large putting green adjacent to the clubhouse provides uphill, downhill and right to left, and left to right practice. A short game area allows players to improve bunker work, chipping, or bump and run exercises.
A staff of PGA professionals is available for individual or group, clinic style instruction year-round. Complimentary beginner clinics are available by request, covering basic swing, rules of the game and golf etiquette
Clubhouse
In 1999, The Plateau Club turned to the region’s visionary design firm, Anderson, Koch & Smith, to design a “Northwest-style” clubhouse that would exist in tune with the serene setting and respectful of its natural surroundings. Our clubhouse’s “Northwest Style” is characterized by graceful sheltering roofs, interior ceilings that echo the roof forms, soft muted colors and a generous use of glass to maximize exposure to the beautiful views and golf course vistas. The intent was to create a building that feels like a home away from home, focusing on the use of natural materials and soft lighting. Special effort was made to provide every room with a view. The clubhouse design includes an elegant, inviting entrance and a transparent terrace rail that does not interfere with the views.
The Clubhouse is a two-story, 37,500 square foot contemporary building showcasing a variety of dining and recreational amenities. The inviting entry levels features an upscale Pro Shop, administration offices, the Red Alder Grill and Red Alder Lounge (offering Northwest cuisine), beautifully appointed banquet and meeting spaces, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the 9th and 18th greens. On the lower level you will find the Crooked Stick Snack Bar (lighter fare), men’s and ladies locker rooms and access to the golf course.
Recreation
In addition to award-winning golfing, The Plateau Club includes a family Recreation Center, opened in 2000, which offers a clubhouse, competition sized swimming pool and tennis courts, summer camp room, fitness room, children’s training pool, whirlpool, game room, snack bar, and a multi purpose space for aerobics, pilates and other activities.
